"Tentacle, Dutchman, drives French" (Tentacle)

Had a chance to see the Citroën C4 Cactus up close today. I like it even more now that I've seen it in real life.
Too bad that we'll be looking at a C5 Tourer (That's estate for you folks) because two kids. Our next car would probably be a Cactus otherwise.
Oh, and secretly I'm happy my little girl has an interest in cars :)

I had a Xsara before and have a C4 II now, before that my parents had Xantias and BXes before that. My dad has a C5 (berline) right now, so I have a pretty good idea what to expect with the C5 Tourer. :)

The Cactus looks completely underwhelming when the plastic panels don't stand out. White is awesome, this silver dealio not so much...

I had a Xsara Break in silver, and I too own a C4 (albeit in sedan version) and a C5. I grew with an Evasion and my parents had Xantias, my first car was a ZX. Nice to meet you Dutchman.

Some of the wilder combinations work really well, bright yellow car with dark inserts. Having said that, this black metallic with dark grey inserts worked really well too. Much more understated, but very pleasing nonetheless.

Ah, in that case, you might appreciate this rare version: A 2011 Citroën C5 Tourer Carlsson:
It's just a skirt, right? But it transforms the car. Not pictured: 2x2 chrome exhaust tips.

Are these "cushions" really that soft? Every time I see one I want to touch them and see how they react to a gentle push, but I'm afraid people might think I'm a weirdo/vandal. Next I see one somewhere lonely though....

The Airbumps (add an "®" because that's a registered name) are made of thermoplastic polyurethane. And PU (polyurethane) is something you may know from skate board and roller skate wheels. Also dampers, running shoe soles, mobile phone cases and the like.
So it's a hard rubber-like material, filled with pockets of air. They don't appear to react to a gentle push. You actually have to push quite a bit. Which is actually better because it is intented to absorb quite hard impacts.

Not ones with the C4 Cactus. And no, I'm not going to share the pics of the kids eating waffles. :)

Our car dealership has this annual "veiligheidsdag", safety day, which takes place before winter really sets in. Bring your car for a free car check for fluids, lights, wear parts, visual check for corrision and the like. (A lot of it I could do myself, but I don't have a way to properly inspect underneath the car.) So we had the waffles in the show room. My daughter tried (sat behind the wheel of) a C4 Cactus, a DS3, DS4 and DS5 (and had to stop her from getting into a C4, which we have, so nothing new there and a C5). She liked the C4 Cactus the most.
Oh, and our own car passed its 16-point check, which was nice too.

Cool. Spent my day prepping for winter around the house.
